Feel refreshed after an extra hour of sleep and enjoy a leisurely tour through the Freeman House. Designed by Arthur and Alfred Heineman, the Freeman House is their costliest residential project, and the expense is seen throughout with Batchelder tile fireplaces, beautifully carved wood details, stained glass, and intricately designed roofline. Local researcher and historian John Ripley will give a short presentation on the significance of this house in the Heineman brothers’ portfolio. Guests will be able to freely tour the house and enjoy a light breakfast in the exquisite Asian-inspired gardens.

The Sunday Craftsman House Tour is Craftsman Weekend’s signature event, featuring fine examples of the beautiful Craftsman architecture that makes Pasadena the destination for Arts & Crafts enthusiasts from across the country. The tour includes two Greene and Greene-designed homes in South Pasadena and a D.M. Renton-designed home in the Orange Heights National Register District, once known as “Pill Hill” for the number of doctors who lived there. More details will be posted about the houses on the tour as they become available so please check back!
