Bus Tours
Pasadena Heritage will provide your group with a step-on docent who is versed in the history of Pasadena and its architecture. Your group is responsible for hiring the bus (which must have a functioning microphone) and for coordinating any visits to historic sites or museums in Pasadena. Bus tours are approximately two hours long. Cost for your group will be $180 for a two hour tour and $80 or portion there of beyond two hours. Available tours include:
Pasadena's Architectural Legacy:
This tour highlights the wide variety of architectural styles found in Pasadena, from the Victorian through the Modern era. Highlights include Pasadena’s Civic Center, Old Pasadena, the historic Arroyo Terrace Neighborhood, and the Arroyo Seco with its landmark Rose Bowl stadium. We will also visit other historic residential neighborhoods, drive past the Pasadena Playhouse, and glimpse the two resort hotels that remain from Pasadena’s days as a grand resort location.
Pasadena in the Movies:
Look at Pasadena through the camera’s lens as we visit movie sites throughout the city. Pasadena’s long history with the movie industry began as early as 1912 with the filming of D.W. Griffith’s The Queen’s Necklace on the grounds of the Fenyes Mansion. Pasadena continues to entice directors and their crews who have found our city to be most welcoming and inspiring. Pasadena hosts more than 600 films, commercials and television shows each year.
Bungalow Courts:
The bungalow court originated in Pasadena in the early 1900s. Bungalow courts are an innovative solution to multi-family housing that provide their residents with the amenities of a single family home. Pasadena has more than one hundred courts remaining, ranging in period from the early 1900s to the mid 1930s. Twenty of these courts are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
