Our Week-Long Celebration of the Colorado Street Bridge Was a Huge Success!

All of us at Pasadena Heritage are pleased and proud to announce that our Celebration of the Colorado Street Bridge this week was a huge success! We were delighted to welcome so many guests who enjoyed great talks, music, kids’ activities, gorgeous classic cars, all in celebration of our historic Bridge.

We sincerely appreciate the generous support of all our sponsors, volunteers, participants and guests! It was a great week in celebration of the once-threatened Colorado Street Bridge and of historic preservation throughout Pasadena! Funds raised support our programs and advocacy efforts.

The Colorado Street Bridge has been threatened numerous times, and for the last 43 years, Pasadena Heritage has been its leading champion. To save and restore this iconic structure, the organization conducted letter-writing campaigns, constant lobbying and national publicity efforts. Pasadena Heritage’s famous summer event on the spectacular span first highlighted the need to repair it. After many years of effort, the Bridge was saved, seismically upgraded and restored to its original grandeur – a feat that is celebrated with this community event.
